It has come to our attention that materials originating outside the Township of Huron-Kinloss are being disposed of at the Huron Landfill site. As per the Huron Landfill site Certificate of Approval and By-Law 2011-09 Waste Management, the Township is only able to accept materials from Township sources. Therefore, the Township has implemented a proof of origin process.

All contractors shall be asked to provide proof of origin of the materials being disposed of in the form of an invoice, signed agreement, etc. with their client to assist the Township with meeting its regulatory obligations.

If the waste being disposed is not from a customer/client and originates from the business, and it is located within the municipality, Landfill staff will accept a letter on the business’ letterhead stating that the waste was generated at their Township of Huron-Kinloss property.
